Tears for Fears/Baptism

by Jenny Nix

Baptism

The tears you cried, a mix of grief, loss, anger and hurt

They have bubbled, lava under the surface, hot and burnt

My face on your shoulder, your arms around me, my magna tears flowed on your chest

You looked down at me and said releasing it was best

You need it now, it has been held inside so long, let it out, let it out

Hot and urgent, tears wash over your face and fall to the floor, releasing you

You are on your way to free, the full of pain has started to subside

Now your warmth and love are what are left inside

The relief you will start to feel, the awful replaced by what is real

You have done your best, you know it is true

The world is waiting for your lighter self

A baptism within instead of out

Your big heart is free and your arms open wide

The past is behind you, the future for you to decide
